Holiday Feast & Fun at Head Start

ESC Region 19 Head Start children enjoyed a festive Thanksgiving celebration filled with joy, creativity, and delicious food.
Wearing self-made construction paper turkey headdresses, the children beamed with excitement as they "gobbled" up the much-anticipated holiday feast. The annual Thanksgiving lunch, served family-style, is thoughtfully prepared by the Head Start nutrition staff to promote healthy eating habits, and offers a delicious way for children to celebrate the season while enjoying wholesome, balanced foods.

The holiday celebrations continued inside Head Start classrooms, which came alive with vibrant holiday crafts and family engagement activities. Children and their families collaborated on festive projects, reinforcing the program’s commitment to parent and family involvement. These activities not only sparked creativity but also provided meaningful opportunities for families to connect and celebrate the season together.

At ESC Region 19 Head Start, the holiday season is more than just a time for fun—it’s a time to strengthen bonds, nurture traditions, and support children’s growth in a joyful, collaborative environment.
