ESC Region 19 Early Head Start has increased capacity for infants, toddlers, and pregnant participants.
The impact of early education begins even before birth. The period between birth and early toddlerhood is a critical window where interactions, language exposure, and sensory experiences significantly influence a child’s intellectual and emotional growth.
Recognizing the critical role early education plays in a child’s development, many parents are seeking opportunities to support their babies’ growth well before they reach preschool age.
In response to this growing demand, ESC Region 19 has significantly expanded its Early Head Start capacity. Out of 35 Head Start centers, 28 now cater to infants, toddlers, and pregnant women through Early Head Start programs, accommodating a total of 850 students across 107 classrooms.
This expansion also includes the opening of three new Early Head Start Centers located on Saul Kleinfeld, North Loop, and Horizon, further enhancing access to vital early education resources for young families.
