EHS Serves Expectant Mothers

Children’s healthy development starts before birth, which is why the ESC19 Early Head Start Program is dedicated to serving expectant mothers and children from birth to age three. In the El Paso community, many young and new mothers face challenges in finding or even knowing about the resources available to them. Late or inadequate pregnancy-related care can lead to increased risks and complications.

By enrolling in the Early Head Start program, expectant families gain early access to a wealth of Head Start resources and guidance. Through Head Start’s community partnerships, families are connected with vital community services designed to support pregnancy and ensure better birth outcomes. Head Start’s fatherhood and family advocacy programs assist in easing the transition into parenthood, providing a comprehensive support system for growing families.
