Amazon.com, Inc. donated 27 boxes of goods and supplies to Options Head Start families. The multinational technology and e-commerce company collaborated with Option Head Start through Amazon's Community Engagement efforts to supply generous donations.
"When hearing about Head Start's program, we were inspired to not only give back to the community but also aid kids with an economic disadvantage." said Adriana Galicia, Amazon Haz-Waste Coordinator, "We are hoping our donations will supply every single family enrolled in the Head Start program."
ESC19 Head Start provides early education and support services to thousands of low-income children and families – many of whom struggle to acquire basic daily necessities.
The boxes contained school supplies, educational kits and toys, shoes, coats and clothing, household goods and personal hygiene products, and baby items and blankets.
"We are so blessed to have this collaboration," said Laura Gonzales, Options Head Start Center Manager, "Adriana was sincere in her desire to determine the needs of our Head Start parents -she asked questions, then used our feedback to accommodate those specific needs. We truly look forward to continuing our partnership in the future".
Amazon's community donations to non-profit organizations and affinity groups are reoccurring. To find out how to donate to Head Start or to become a Head Start Community Partner, contact: Luis Estrada at 915.790-4609
