Thank you for your interest in the Head Start program. Head Start provides free early childhood development and preschool services to children from birth to age 5. Head Start offers full-day preschool services, transportation at most centers and welcomes children with disabilities. Please scroll down to the bottom of the page to complete and submit the online pre-application form.

How to Apply

To apply for Head Start services, please contact a Family Service Worker at any one of 32 Head Start locations throughout El Paso and Hudspeth County. They will answer questions, provide you with required forms and tell you what documents you should bring with you to apply. Due to limited government funding, there are not enough spaces for all eligible children. If there is not a space for you and your child at this time, ask the Head Start Center Family Service Worker to place your child on the centers waiting list.

Proof of Guardianship
Proof of Residence
Divorce Decree/Custody Documents (If Applicable)
Proof of Child Support (If Applicable)

Eligibility Requirements

Services are available to families who meet Federal Poverty Income Guidelines and reside in El Paso and Hudspeth County. Children in foster care, homeless children, and children from families receiving public assistance (TANF or SSI) are categorically eligible regardless of income. All children must have immunizations up-to-date prior to the first day of attendance.
