Head Start Dads: Engage, Lead, Inspire!

Fatherhood Program: Strengthening Families Together
Posted on 02/03/2025
 Empowered Fathers Empower Families

The ESC19 Head Start Fatherhood Program is committed to empowering fathers and male role models by providing training, resources, and support to foster strong, healthy family relationships.

The program emphasizes the vital role of male involvement in early childhood education, equipping fathers with the tools they need to actively engage in their child’s learning and development.

Through hands-on activities, insightful discussions, and networking opportunities, the program encourages fathers to take an active role in their child’s growth. Participants also connect with peers from 35 Head Start centers, receive guidance from community partners, and gain access to valuable resources that support their journey as parents and role models.

Program Impact

The Fatherhood Program has led to measurable positive outcomes for both children and fathers, including:

Improved school attendance and academic performance for children
Enhanced social skills and independence in children
Strengthened parenting skills, leadership, and confidence as caregivers
Increased male involvement and advocacy in children’s education
Greater awareness of Head Start and community resources
Stronger support networks among fathers and male role models

“Fathers are providers for their families, but providing goes beyond financial support—it requires education, resources, and strong relationships. This program empowers fathers to be better leaders by offering opportunities for self-growth, valuable skills, and education. We encourage all fathers and male role models to participate.” — Cynthia Vasquez, Program Manager, Family Partnership & Leadership
