Holiday Cheer Lights Up Region 19 Head Start Event

More than 3,000 Region 19 Head Start students gathered at the El Paso County Coliseum on Thursday, December 19 to celebrate the 2024 El Paso rotary Club & Head Start Children’s Christmas Show.

For over 25 years, the Rotary Club of El Paso and ESC Region 19 Head Start have joined forces to bring joy to thousands of preschoolers each holiday season, providing gifts and spreading festive cheer to disadvantaged families.

As part of the celebration, Head Start staff presented a heartwarming holiday show, The Elf and the Very Merry Friendship Party, which delivered character-building lessons on sharing, taking turns, transitioning, and teamwork. These themes align with Head Start’s social-emotional development curriculum, a cornerstone of its early education approach.

In addition to enjoying the holiday performance, each child received a book, a stocking, and an assortment of holiday goodies generously provided by the El Paso Rotarians.

The long-standing partnership between ESC Region 19 Head Start and the Rotary Club of El Paso continues to make the holiday season brighter for children and families across the region.
