Children must be healthy to learn. Therefore, it is critical for families and care providers to be partners in their child's health. Head Start and Early Head Start programs strive to provide families with a wide variety of
health-related services and information and support them in maintaining a safe, healthy, active life.
The Health Services area facilitates comprehensive health services to infants, toddlers, preschool children, and pregnant participants enrolled in the ESC 19 Head Start Birth to Four Early Education Program. Through collaborations with health providers and agencies, Head Start Health services offers training and technical assistance to center-level staff and coordinates contracted health providers to assist with health services to all Head Start children and pregnant participants.
Health Services also supports the healthy development of all enrolled children by facilitating the case management and delivery of a range of services responsive and appropriate to each child's development and learning.
