Home School Connection

As part of building a strong partnership between home and school we offer opportunities for parents and family members to support their child’s learning. The home school connection activities build language development, fluency, comprehension, and reinforce reading.

Read to Me:

The Read to Me Home Reading Program offers opportunities for you and your children to engage in reading activities at home. Children receive a backpack with books to exchange weekly. A monthly activity calendar will extend learning by providing daily activities to do before, during, and after reading.

My Own Little Library:

Head Start preschool children will select books to start their own little library. This is a great way for children to develop a love for books, reading, and family time.  Parents are encouraged to promote reading experiences that support their children’s language and literacy development by creating a personal library at home.
