Community Champions for Head Start

Community Champions for Head Start
Posted on 02/01/2021

2021 marks almost 25 years of partnership between ESC Region 19 Head Start and the community organizations that support the Head Start and Early Head Start program.

Since 1987, ESC Region 19 Head Start has fostered partnerships among community organizations to promote the health, well being and education of children and their families.

These organizations include school districts, health and human service providers, local businesses, economic and employment support, mental health, higher education and more.

A strong and continuous collaboration with community partners is vital in helping the Head Start program better asses and respond to the needs of families, connecting families to outside resources, and promoting community engagement in the education of young children.

Whether through empowering parents as leaders, family counseling and special needs support, supporting health and wellness, or ensuring the well being of families at home, Head Start’s community partners are the key to the success of the Head Start program, as well as its children, and families.
