SISD Police Dept. Visits Options Head Start
Children at Options Head Start were treated to a special visit from one of Socorro ISD Police Department’s finest! Officer Teddy Koo spent the day teaching children about safety, emergency procedures, and the role of the police and emergency personnel in keeping them safe and protected. Later, the children had fun exploring the interior of a real police patrol car; turning on lights and sirens, as Officer Koo answered their questions and explained how everything worked. Options Head Start believes in fostering relations with these important community partners to increase children’s awareness and ability to recognize and respond to danger, and also to recognize police officers as friends and trusted advocates for their safety.
