ESC Region 19 Head Start is currently enrolling children and families into the program. Children are eligible to participate in the Head Start and Early Head Start program by meeting federal income guidelines and eligibility requirements.
Region 19 Head Start serves over 4500 children, including infants and toddlers, throughout 30 centers. Families with children under the age of five, including expectant parents who live in El Paso and Hudspeth counties, may be eligible for enrollment.
ESC Region 19 Head Start is a high-quality; comprehensive early childhood development and education program including pre-kindergarten services designed to increase the school readiness of children as well as their preparedness for the future.
The program also offers a range of free services designed to foster healthy development of young children from birth until the age five. Services extended to Head Start children and families include health, education, nutrition, disabilities, mental health and family services.
