ESC Region 19 Head Start is a birth to four early education program offering high-quality childhood development and preschool services designed to increase the school readiness and foster the healthy development of young children.



Head Start services weave together the educational, physical, social, emotional and parental threads that form a healthy and school ready kindergarten student. For parents, the program equips them with the tools they need to help support their children’s learning. It also offers parents opportunities to make progress towards their own educational and career goals. For children, it's these early learning experiences that prepare them for kindergarten and gives them the tools to thrive in school. In fact, the first four years of a child's life are a period of incredible growth. It's a time where children begin to build their foundation for reading, math and science. It's also a time where they learn to express feelings and become more independent.
